Shedding the Shame: Week 2

Hey guys!

I hope you all have had a great start to your week. Since posting about minimalism and Project 333, I actually bought some new shirts and new pants. I only switched out a few things. And I’m sure that someone out there is going to say that it’s not very minimalist to get new things.

But I believe that if you are intentional about the things that you buy and not just buying because of what others are telling you to do. I am also like super picky about the clothes I wear, mainly because I don’t like following trends and I favor functionality over fashion. That’s just me though. Keep an eye out for a future blog post about clothes and shopping.

Moving on… this week’s question is:

“What do I want out of my life? How do I make sure I get it?”

My first response is going to be “happiness, love and positivity”. Which isn’t to say that I don’t want other stuff. But in the end, I want to make sure that I am not only doing what I love but I also want to make a positive impact on the lives of others. My second response, is to write several books and have them published.

As for reaching my goals, I am going to commit to working at all of them as hard as I can. I’m not saying that I am going to be crazy and work all the time. But I am going to work smart and hard in order to reach the goals.

I know that is so vague. But I have been a victim of burnout on several accounts and I refuse to make that happen again. While I reach my goals I do want to make sure that I am achieving a level of balance. So working hard and smart, meaning making sure I don’t work myself to exhaustion just so I can complete the to-do list.

And I feel like that is an important lesson for everyone, no matter what it is being applied to. Don’t keep pulling yourself through a to-do list just to complete it. If you don’t have the energy, remind yourself that it is okay to move things around. In the end, with proper planning, you should be able to do everything that you need to do.
